We think we are our thoughts and emotions. We call them “I”, who we imagine we are…Indeed, the mind is always dreaming itself. Yet, obscured by the restless oscillation of our ordinary mental/emotional consciousness is the stillness and joy of being, awareness itself, threatened by nothing, withdrawing from nothing, becoming one with life.

For most of us, it is the unexpected or unwanted that brings us to the edge. Yet, instead of using this signal, as a notice to step beyond our cage, we pull back, hiding and posturing, inventing an acceptable reality, all to our fear of letting go of who we think we are.

Life situations and patterns of behaviour repeat themselves, as do habitual conscious and unconscious thoughts and emotions. We move in a cloud of mental conditioning where, unconscious imprints within our psyche taint sensory input with emotional polarities of variable magnitude, either grasping at perception or trying to evade it.

Yet, to go to the root of our existential suffering and transform there is no place to turn except inward.
